Training Mediumship Development

A Spiritual Journey or Just Training Mediumship Development.

The Spiritual Individual Journey

A Sacred Responsibility

Training Mediumship development goes beyond technical skill. It’s a connection between the physical and spiritual worlds that requires empathy, self-reflection, and continuous growth. It challenges you to move past simply gathering evidence and instead deliver meaningful, transformative messages.

The Need for Meaningful Mediumship

Relying only on facts—names, dates, and events—can make mediumship feel empty. A recipient once shared, “I already knew my dad was in spirit. The medium gave accurate details, but it felt random and disconnected. I wanted to feel his presence, humor, and love, but I was left wanting more.”

This highlights the need to:

  • Understand the deeper relevance of evidence to appreciate the message and the needs of the recipient.

  • Share the essence of the spirit’s personality and why they present that way today.

  • Deliver messages with empathy and purpose, carrying through the theme of the communicators evidence.

Mediumship thrives, when it offers stories that bring comfort and insight, not just facts.

Questions for Practitioners

To grow as a medium, ask yourself:

  • What does the evidence reveal about the recipient’s needs and the message from spirit?

  • How can I ensure the session focuses on the recipient, not my performance?

  • Am I balancing the flow of information and emotion between the spirit and recipient?

  • These reflections help make your mediumship meaningful and spiritually uplifting.

Building a Holistic Practice

Mediumship is most impactful when it addresses the mental, emotional, and physical aspects of the recipient’s experience:

  • Mental Clarity: Helps recipients explore life’s mysteries and encourages curiosity.

  • Emotional Peace: Provides comfort and reassurance, especially during difficult times.

  • Physical Well-being: Relieves stress and fosters healing through positive emotions.

This holistic approach transforms mediumship into a source of healing and understanding.

Avoiding Common Pitfalls

Modern mediumship faces challenges:

  • Ego and Competition: Criticism and judgment among practitioners shift focus away from service.

  • Performance Over Purpose: Showmanship undermines the sacred nature of mediumship.

  • Disconnected Messages: Random evidence without context can feel unfulfilling to recipients.

Mediums should prioritise humility, authenticity, and the needs of the recipient to preserve the integrity of their work.

Troubling Trends in Mediumship

It could be perceived the essence of mediumship is being undermined by judgment, competition, and egotism, often amplified by online platforms. Toxic environments emerge where mediums are criticised for failing to meet narrow standards, shifting the focus from inspiration to self-promotion. Surely this tarnishes authenticity and discourages genuine practitioners?

Equally concerning is the rise of “armchair critics” who elevate their own status by speaking of and demeaning students and tutors, in front of others. These self-proclaimed elites, erode community and turn mediumship into a profit-driven transaction.

This loss of humility and faith replaces its sacred purpose with egos and superficial displays that prioritise appearances over authenticity.

Spirituality and Individual Growth

However, we have seen too, in spiritual seekers, that there seems a reassuring prioritisation of personal connection and authenticity, over rigid traditions. This shift emphasises:

  • Community Over Ego: Fostering mutual support among practitioners.

  • Natural Purpose: Aligning with values that resonate personally.

  • Intentionality: Practicing mindfulness and living with purpose.

Spirituality offers a path to deeper connections and shared understanding, fostering emotional and spiritual fulfillment.

Returning to the Essence of Mediumship

What if recognition and accolades of the medium were removed and anonymised, returning to the message, being more important that the messenger?

Mediumship, at its core, is about serving others by:

  • Focusing entirely on the recipient’s healing and understanding.

  • Removing distractions of performance and ego on the part of the medium.

  • Allowing the spirit to guide the process without evidence being embellished by the medium.

This return to simplicity might ensure that mediumship remained a pure exchange of love, healing, and connection.

Embracing Growth and Responsibility

Mediumship asks you to:

  • Be a storyteller who reveals the essence of the communicator's life.

  • Foster emotional and spiritual healing.

  • Commit to ongoing personal and professional development.

By doing so, you honor the sacredness of this work and create experiences that inspire and uplift.

A Call for Authenticity

Mediumship’s beauty lies in its authenticity and ability to transform lives.

To preserve this, practitioners must rise above judgment, competition, and ego-driven practices.

By focusing on service, humility, and connection, you uphold the true essence of this spiritual art.

Kerry and I are of the belief that a spiritualisation takes place when developing a spiritual practice , building an understanding of compassion and empathy.

As you develop your ability of mediumship, so should you personally develop your understandings of the world and people, broadening the mind and being more open to possibilities.

As you unfold your ability with deeper understandings, so does your evidence unfold more and become richer in value to your recipient and to one’s self as you understand its relevance, creating a reaction within your soul.

This is were we take the learnings and reflect upon our own thoughts and actions in life.

You can not separate one from the other, training mediumship development is combination…
